Greetings all;
Finally! a Happy Canadian data story!
I just got off the phone with an official at BC Stats in relation to some
work I am doing. I have been navigating both the BC Stats (
http://www.bcstats.gov.bc.ca/data/pop/maps/reference.asp) also see the left
hand Nav Bar - subject areas for other stuff. I have also been looking at
BC Vital Stats (http://www.vs.gov.bc.ca/stats/index.html) in particular
their reports.
Now, I know, I know their method of delivery - pdf docs is not ideal, and I
would not advocate for this approach, nevertheless, there is alot of
information there for anyone to work with and in many cases better than any
other province except perhaps Quebec. (I would love to be corrected if I am
wrong!).
On a related but seperate note - I keep track of the data access / open data
sites in my delicious tagged with civicaccess and also coacid.
Finally, do any of you think there is merit in keeping a list of good
resources somewhere? We used to do this on a wiki but it got hacked! we do
have datalibre.ca as another possible location. Comments are most welcome!
Cheers
t
