Subject: [CivicAccess-discuss] What's in data.gov - An Analysis by Tetherless World

Sorry for the busy morning, but alas, today is a rich data in the open access to public data world.

I heard Peter Fox (http://tw.rpi.edu/wiki/Peter_Fox) from Tetherless World (http://tw.rpi.edu/wiki/Main_Page) speak a couple of weeks ago at the ICSTI 2009 Conference Managing Data for Science (http://www.icsti2009.org/01-welcome_e.shtml) and was very impressed with the work they are doing.

Tetherless world has done some interesting analysis of of Data.gov content that I think is useful and provides food for thought for other initiatives that will be coming down the pipes in the future. I think it is useful and important to evaluate these projects in order to get them right. You can see their analysis here: http://tw.rpi.edu/weblog/
